In 1901, the hospital admitted 799 patients, an increase of 50 percent over 1900. Just two years after the new building opens, crowded conditions again prevail, with many patients denied admittance. A new and detached isolation ward is built for patients with contagious disease. The ambulance made 188 trips in the first year of service. The hospital built a new horse shed.
